Here at Fathers Network Scotland we aim to improve the lives of dads, children and families across Scotland by enabling and supporting fathers to be the best dads they can be. We are a small charity with a big ambition - to make Scotland the best place in the world to be a dad – and we need your support to make it happen.
Some of our amazing supporters have chosen to help us to raise much needed funds to help us do our work through some crazy shenanigans. This year, we’ve put together 10 fundraising ideas for the whole family in celebration of our tenth birthday. We’d love you to join us in the celebrations, raise funds and help us to help more families across Scotland!
1) The ‘10x10’
This is one that you can enjoy with your kids, your friends or your work colleagues! How can you turn £1 into £10, £10 into £100 or even £100 into £1000? This is a challenge for the entrepreneurs out there - how can you take an initial investment and multiply it by 10? It might be as simple as a lemonade stand, or it might be a wacky investment scheme! Whatever you come up with - we want to hear about it. Let us know by using the hashtag #FNS10.
2) The 10am Bake Sale
Everybody loves a bake sale, especially when it hits the mid-morning munchie slot. Could you do a bake sale at school, at work or a coffee morning with your pals to raise vital funds for Fathers Network Scotland?
3) Run a 10K
You don't have to do it in one go! Children could have a go at running five 2 kilometre runs with dad. You could ask your friends and family to sponsor you for every kilometre you rack up. Why stop at that? Have you thought about taking part in a Kiltwalk for Fathers Network Scotland?
4) The Lost 10
Give up something you love (or that doesn’t make you feel good) for 10 days. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you for this massive achievement!
5) The Scottish 10
Can you take on 10 Scottish Landmarks? You could do this as a family and aim to visit 10 Scottish Landmarks with your kids, or you could bag 10 Munros. You can make this one as easy or as tricky as you like (but be sure to wear a kilt! And we want photographs!).
6) The Good 10
Can you do 10 good deeds throughout the year? We love random acts of kindness at Fathers Network Scotland and this challenge appeals to our sense of community spirit. You could do one thing a week, or a month. Make sure to take photos of your good deeds and at the end of your challenge you can direct friends to your sponsorship page!
7) The 10-to-10
It’s cowboy-time! Hold a fancy dress fundraiser at the school, local hall or in your local park!
8) The Focus 10
Take ten photos of what fatherhood means to you and share them with your friends and family using the hashtag #FNS10.
9) The Reading 10
Read bedtimes stories to your little ones for at least 10 minutes for 10 days. Or maybe your child(ren) would like to read 10 books to dad!
10) The Power of 10
We’re looking for 10 Scottish companies to come on board our 10 Year Fundraising Challenge. We can provide ideas and support to engage your team - could this be just the challenge you are looking for this year?
