State of the Nation: Fatherhood in Scotland

As financial pressures persist and the squeeze on family time tightens, dads face an increasingly difficult balancing act between providing for their children and being present for them. Against a backdrop of historic low fertility rates and continued strain on everyday family life, understanding the realities of fatherhood has never been more important.

This year, 578 dads from across Scotland, representing every health board, have shared their experiences with us. Reflecting different family circumstances and backgrounds, their responses paint a picture of fatherhood in Scotland today.

Join us for the launch of our State of the Nation: Fatherhood in Scotland report, as we share key findings from our survey and consider what they reveal about the experiences, pressures and realities of being a dad today.

The event will feature two sections, each combining a brief presentation of survey findings with a 30-minute expert panel discussion:

  • Home, work and mental health: exploring the pressures shaping dads’ working lives, wellbeing and time with their children.

  • Play and digital life: exploring how dads understand play, find parenting advice and use digital tools to support their children’s development.

📅 Wednesday, 18th November 🕑 10:30AM - 12:30PM 💻 Via Zoom
