Becoming a parent is life-changing, but the UK is failing families.

That's why parents across the country are coming together to call for proper paternity leave and real flexible working rights.

The UK has the worst paternity leave in Europe: just two weeks, paid at less than half the minimum wage. Too many parents are still denied the flexibility they need to balance work and childcare, while many families are worse off on two incomes than previous generations were on one.

On Thursday 27th August at 10:00 AM, parents, families and supporters will book a couple of hours off work to join family-friendly demonstrations, calling for two simple changes: flexible working by default, and at least six weeks' paternity leave at 90% pay, including for the self-employed.

In Scotland, there will be two family-friendly rallies taking place simultaneously:

Edinburgh: Outside the Scottish Parliament

Glasgow: At the Wellington Statue
