Want to see dads more accurately represented in TV advertising? Got a child under four? Why not take part in some new research? SHANNEN DERWIN explains...
I am a 4th Year, Social Science Student at Edinburgh Napier University. I am currently undertaking a research study looking into advertising of baby products and the relationship this has (if any) with the way that fathers experience fatherhood and parenting of young children.
I am looking for volunteers to take part in this study which will aim to:
- Investigate the roles that the fathers play within the parenting of their children
- Investigate the perceptions fathers have of the representations of fatherhood in television advertising
- Investigate the extent to which television advertising accurately reflects roles of fathers in parenting
I am looking for volunteers who are fathers and have children who are currently under the age of four (as I am looking at the advertising of baby products in particular).
The study will involve attending a focus group with around six other participants which will last around 40-45 minutes (date, time and venue will be agreed once participants come forward).
However, if you are unable to attend or would feel more comfortable taking part in a one-to-one interview then I am more than happy to arrange for this!
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and if you would like any further information about the research or would like to take part, please contact me by email on [email protected]
