WHAT was your best Year of the Dad moment?
My personal favourite was watching school children proudly premiere their own Song for Dad at the Edinburgh Zoo launch, applauded by hundreds of guests from organisations and families across Scotland. It set the tone for the year, and showed that celebrating the difference a great dad can make is ultimately about improving our children’s lives.Read more >>
After 5th December 2016, it is illegal in Scotland to smoke in the car with children. DAVID ROBERTSON of Ash Scotland offers support to help dads and others to stub out the habit for good as the new law takes effect.
CHANGE is in the air to protect our kids from the harm caused by second-hand smoke. MEMBERS of the Fathers Network Scotland team are putting on their running shoes on to take part in the Edinburgh Men's Health 10K. We'll be raising money to support the family of our beloved friend and CEO David Drysdale, who died from cancer in July at the age of 50.
Board member Nick Smithers - one of those involved with setting up the charity at the very start with David - will be joined by his teenage son Gregor, acting CEO Sam Pringle and Head of Comms Nick Thorpe to run the race, all of us wearing Year of the Dad T-shirts.Read more >>
